HOT WATER BOILER CLEAN & SAFETY INSPECTION
- BOILER PRESSURE Check temperature pressure gauge and adjust accordingly.
- EXPANSION TANK Check diaphragm tank for punctures and make sure it expands properly. Drained off if necessary.
- PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE Check for proper operation and leaks. Drain accordingly.
- CIRCULATING PUMP Lubricate motor and the pump. Check temperature rise.
- TEMPERATURE SET POINT Check temperature controller on system. Perform all other adjustments and settings.
- AUTOMATIC DRAFT VENT DAMPER: Check damper drive operation and adjust if needed.
- BURNERS Clean and adjust.
- THERMOCOUPLE Replace if needed.
- PILOT Clean and adjust as necessary.
- GAS VALVE Inspected & tested for proper operation.
- GAS LINE Leak checked from the furnace shut off value to the burners.
- SAFETY CONTROLS Check for proper operation.
- COMBUSTION AIR OPENING Check for blockage or restriction combustion air openings.
- INDUCER MOTOR ASSEMBLY Lubricate wheel and inspect to insure proper removal of flue gases, if applicable.
- FLUE PIPE Inspect for pipe corrosion or leaks.
- FLUE DRAFT Check to assure boiler is drafting properly.
- FLUE LIMIT SAFETY will be inspected and tested for proper operation.
- PRESSURE SWITCH will be inspected and air tubes will be cleaned.
- THERMOSTAT Check and calibrate as required.
- CONTROLS Inspect and test.
- RELAYS AND CONTACTS Inspect for worn contacts and loose wire connections.
- UNIT WIRING Inspect and tighten loose connections to avoid control & motor failure.
- HOT SURFACE IGNITOR Inspect for hot spot. Advise homeowner if replacement needed.
- BURNER OPERATION Inspect to make sure it lights smoothly. Adjust burner air shutters if needed, to ensure safe, efficient operation.
- FLAME RECTIFICATION (on newer boilers) Meter to accurately measure micro amps of current.
- MANIFOLD GAS PRESSURE Check for proper pressure to control fuel input to the furnace burners.
- SECURE ALL PANELS.
- QUALITY INSPECTION Overall inspection and assessment of installation, equipment condition area and clearances.
